6-28 13:35. Preliminary plans for a Tulelake town site were drafted in 1922 by the Bureau of Reclamation. On March 17, 1931 500 people attended a public auction. 209 lots, ranging in price from $65 to $125 per residential lot, were offered for sale. Three additional auctions were held in 1936, 1941 and 1948. Here, is Tulelake today, at the foot of Medicine Lake Highlands, North America's largest volcano.
