In 2007 half the world's population will live in cities. 87% of the United States live in urban areas. In 1950, New York-Newark, 12.3 million, and Tokyo, 11.3 million, were the only cities in the world with more than 10 million people.  Today, 20 cities have more than 10 million inhabitants. Tokyo now is 35.3 million. 600 million people in 2000 were over the age of 60,
