Fish present in Iron Gate Reservoir include trout, catfish, crappie, perch, salmon, and steelhead. Fishing licenses can be purchased in the town of Hornbrook which is southwest of Iron Gate. Deer, quail, doves, waterfowl, and wild turkeys are game hunting opportunities in the area. Iron Gate Reservoir has three campgrounds with 31 sites that are free for visitors.
