The Trinity Dam. In 1924, the Trinity River was considered by the Federal Power Commission for hydroelectric power.  In the early 1930's California included the Trinity River in its State Water plan. In 1942, the Bureau of Reclamation began its own feasibility studies. In 1945, California dropped the Trinity River from the State Water Plan.  BOR continued, starting survey work in 1950. Public discussions of upper Trinity River development were held at Weaverville, California on Feb. 2, 1952. On January 2, 1953, the Trinity was included in the California Valley Project.  In 1955, President Eisenhower gave the Trinity River Division his approval.
