Tule Lake is one of the few refuges in the national system leasing land to farmers, who share their crops with their feathered and furred neighbors. Nearly 1,200 shoreline miles of Tulelake Irrigation District's canals and ditches, throughout the basin, provide additional habitat. Here refuge and farmlands work together as one.
